Nurseries are so much fun to decorate and I wanted to share some of my favorite color palette
ideas and Etsy finds. I tend to favor white or pale light colors for the furniture in a nursery
room, because as a child grows it makes it easier to change the overall color theme through the
addition of new decorating accessories.  Take this girl’s room design by Disney Baby.com 
and see how colorful and fun it is. The furniture in the room is simple, the crib is white and
there is a soft pink kids chair, otherwise all the color seen here was introduced through clever
accessorizing. The room gets it’s punch through the aqua teal and red/fuchsia contrast and is
anything but boring.

I remember when I was a first time mom, our budget was very limited and I wish I had known about
Etsy back in the day. There are so many wonderful and unique things to be found on Etsy that
won’t break the bank, yet allow you to really customize a nursery and give it that Designer look.

Accessorizing with handmade items is also a easy way to bring a room together. I just love these
cute little hedgehogs , especially since you can match their little outfits to match the color of
the nursery.

Adding art work should not only be for the living room or bedroom. Why not capture the sweetness
of your child with a custom portrait painted by me?! Our little ones grow up so fast and having
their portrait painted while they are still so sweet instead of full of attitude is a nice way to
capture that innocence. Portraits don’t have to look old-fashioned either, placed in a nice frame
and suspended with a colorful ribbon can also add that designer touch. I also like how in the
Disney room the designers have incorporated differently shaped frames in a variety of colors.
Spray paint comes in rather handy for that DIY project!
