Guardian Angel Valentines Ornament

Do you believe in guardian angels? I have to admit that sometimes when at the last-minute I happen to avoid disaster, I often wonder if there is not a kind spirit looking over me. When it came time to come up with a Valentines Day gifting item, I thought what could possibly be better than a little guardian angel ornament for a loved one.  I got busy and some of you saw the photos of my angles as I created them – I will post them again below.

Guardian Angel Valentine Gift Ornament

My little guardian angel holds a small heart that reflects the sun light nicely and it is suspended from a small wire hoop, but the angel can also be attached to a thin ribbon. I wanted my guardian angel  to be multi-functional so that you can use it not only as an ornament, but also as a  gift tag and then decorating item. This allows the recipient to attach it to where ever they like. I actually had one hanging in my car dangling from my mirror to protect me while driving.

Sculpting Angels

I used Fimo to sculpt my angels and after several tries, I finally got them right. I am actually very proud of having pulled this off, because I had purchased all these modeling supplies a while back and besides making a few dolls, never really put them to use. My hubby, to this day still, gives me a hard time for spending hours in a German Department store looking for doll making supplies. Mention art supplies of any shape and size and it’s like someone transplanted me into the Land of Oz, I just aww and uhh at everything, have a hard time leaving  and usually end up buying stuff that I really don’t need.

Well, this time around my ever so patient hubby saw me make a mess in the kitchen as I tweaked this and that angel before sending them off to be baked in the oven. They just had to look perfect and of course once out of the oven each angel received a good sanding, a slight coat of varnish and of course the heart. Now they are ready and available for purchase in my Etsy Store.
